My great-grandparents, George Watts and Sarah Hopkins were married about 1853 in Shipston on Stour. She was the daughter of Robert Hopkins and Hannah Bradley. He was the son of Joseph Watts and Hannah Day and was born in Long, Compton, Warwickshire, in close vicinity to Shipston on Stour. The history and names of generations of all families mentioned here are quite comprehensive and detailed in the book. George and Sarah set sail to New Zealand in 1874 and landed in Napier in 1875. Unfortunately both Sarah and one of their daughters passed away not long after they arrived. Their family and descendants are all listed in a timeline. Names included are brothers Joseph, James, Noah and John and their sister Rose Loader. There was another daughter, Mary, who came to New Zealand but I am unable to find any trace of her. Maybe she settled in central Hawke’s Bay with older brother Joseph.
